Stansted Airport security scanner failure directive

Following the failure of the security scanners at Stansted Airport on the 9th May, which has resulted in passengers being delayed for a number of hours, and in some cases misses their flights, we at tifgroup would like to clarify what cover is available to our policyholders.

Departure delay or Trip abandonment

Providing this is a benefit usually available under the policy we are happy to offer benefit for travel delay, or alternatively trip abandonment, after a 24 hour delay after check in of your flight for departures from Stansted Airport. This applies to trips which began on or after 9th May 2017 only and until normal service resumes.

For both trip abandonment and departure delay you must not have been offered any compensation, or alternative transport that departs within 24 hours. To find out more please email the claims team on claims@tif-plc.co.uk.

In the event that you have specific questions not answered by this directive, please feel free to contact us on directivesqueries@tif-plc.co.uk and we will endeavour to offer an answer.
