Reporting to: Finance Manager

The Team Leader will supervise 4 Accounts Admin staff and perform a variety of accounting tasks, working as part of the Finance team.

Due to restructuring and expansion of the Accounts Administration function, this will be a great position opportunity for someone looking for a challenging opportunity to lead a growing and developing team.

Responsibilities

To oversee and perform a variety of accounting tasks in our Finance department including:

  • Purchase and Sales Ledger: coding and posting invoices
  • Ensuring correct documentation is in place relating to payment of invoices
  • Processing daily claims payments
  • Processing purchase ledger payments
  • Daily reconciliation of 40 Bank Accounts Sterling and Euro
  • Maintain control account reconciliations
  • Other reconciliations as required
  • Credit control
  • Managing petty cash
  • Coding and inputting staff expenses
  • Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
  • Compilation of data and preparation of reports
  • Other ad hoc accounting duties as required including managing various mail boxes

 

To perform a variety of accounting tasks in our Finance department including:

  • Compiling the weekly cash flow
  • Review of purchase ledger nominal coding
  • Running purchase ledger reports to ensure all invoices are being settled within a timely manner
  • Generating and checking unreconciled reports to feedback to the Finance Manager
  • Providing Head of Departments with cost analysis
  • Providing regular feedback to the Finance Manager
  • Review processes and ensure procedures are up to date
  • Generating, reviewing and correcting creditor and debtor reports weekly

 

Supervisory duties include:

  • Accountability for ensuring the above tasks have been completed, with all deadlines being met
  • Weekly 1-2-1s with the team
  • Managing the team’s personal development plans
  • Identifying training needs in the team and support where applicable

 

Personal qualities

  • AAT qualified desirable
  • Highly experienced in nominal ledger accounting
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to motivate others
  • Well organised
  • Good levels of initiative
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Able to prioritise
  • Methodical
  • Knowledge of financial services is advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure
