Reporting to: Team Leader

The role of the customer service representative is to have a passion for having great conversations and delivering excellent customer service to our customers who want to purchase a travel insurance product or have medical conditions to declare as part of the sales process.

Responsibilities: 

  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to provide them with details of the appropriate travel insurance products
  • Provide the customer with a quotation for travel insurance and convert this to a sale
  • Responding to customers requiring medical pre-screening to identify and appropriately rate risk
  • Ensure that the customer’s payment details have been accurately captured to collect premiums
  • Assisting our customers with their queries
  • Providing customer service through all channels (telephone, web chat, social media and email)
  • Multi-tasking between the different channels of communication we offer to or customers
  • To refer to a manager when any work falls outside their area of knowledge or expertise

 Personal qualities:

  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Communication Skills – being able to question, listen effectively and develop rapport with clients
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Flexibility to respond to changing requirements and client needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Requiring  a good standard of written English language
  • Prioritising work load
  • Work a shift pattern with rostered weekends to cover Mon-Fri 8-8pm, Weekends 9-5
